SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM JEFF COLTENBACK:
As many already know, Diana and I will be working on expansion efforts for Pitty Rescue. Pitty Rescue’s NJ presence will NOT change. In fact, we will be instituting new programs here in the NJ area. However, over the course of the next year, we will be focusing our rescue efforts in the Wilmington, NC area. We will be relocating to NC on November 1st.
Rest assured things will not change up here in NJ, especially at our pet store (no, we don’t sell pets, only natural pet food and products). Paradise Pet (44 West Passaic Ave Bloomfield, NJ) is not going anywhere and, as always, I am available via phone or email at any time for your holistic pet care needs. We even added some new food lines. Be sure to come check us out. My staff is well equipped to handle most of your natural pet care needs. And, I will be coming back to NJ on a monthly basis for training and other responsibilities.
For those of you down in the Wilmington, NC area please reach out to us ([email protected] or www.JeffColtenback.com). We want to help your rescue efforts down there. Diana and I will IMMEDIATELY be available to help with training/behavior modification and possibly boarding of rescue dogs. And, of course, I will be available for North Carolina pet owners seeking behavioral or nutritional support for their dogs and cats… Please know this is not the end of our involvement in NJ. We are merely broadening our reach to help more people and more animals!! Please spread the word and let NC friends know of this announcement. Finally, it is important to both Diana and I that you all know how very deeply we appreciate all of your support and love. It means more to us than we can possibly put into words. Dining with your Doggie
Come take a look at our Dining with your Doggie photo album!
Come join us for a bite to eat with your pup. All polite and well behaved breeds (and people - lol) are welcome to join in a fun gathering at Just Jakes on 30 Park Street in Montclair, NJ.
See flier below. Call 973-903-0999 to reserve your table. We are offering three seating times: 11:30am, 1:15pm and 2:45pm. Each dog and person requires a $10 donation. We will be offering Merrick canned food for the dogs with a choice between chicken, turkey, beef or fish (protein subject to change without notice; first can is free, $5 each additional can). Humans may purchase lunch off of the Just Jakes menu at their expense. We will have raffles and prizes too! See flier below...

Pitty Rescue, Inc. to Hold Fall Yard Sale Fundraiser
(September 1, 2014) Bloomfield, NJ -- Pitty Rescue, Inc., a charitable nonprofit rescue organization, is holding a fall yard sale to help raise funds for Lucy the dog, who currently is in their foster care network and needs anterior cruciate ligament (ACL ) surgery. The fall yard sale will take place on Saturday, September 27 and Sunday, September 28 2014 from 9 am to 3 pm both days at Paradise Pet Store, located at 48 West Passaic Avenue in Bloomfield.
Pitty Rescue is asking for donations of clean, functional and appropriate items for resale prior to the yard sale. Donated items can be dropped off at Paradise Pet Store during regular business hours. Please refrain from donating clothes or tiny knick-knacks for the yard sale.
“We had such an overwhelming response with our last yard sale raising more than $2,400 with all proceeds going towards the animals at Pitty Rescue and to other rescues in need,” remarked Danielle Loffredo, chair of the yard sale and co-leader of Pitty Rescue's volunteer program.
Jeff and Diana Coltenback, owners of Paradise Pet Store and founders of Pitty Rescue are internationally known in the dog world as rescuers and skilled dog trainers. Their labor of love goes beyond rescue. The Coltenbacks and their volunteer team ensure the dogs are properly trained and cared for, and there is due diligence done prior to entrusting an individual or family with the life-long commitment of adopting a pet.
“We carefully screen potential owners who have an interest in adoption,” states Jeff Coltenback, who has been working with dogs for over twenty years. “We facilitate the process by watching the dogs’ signals, visiting the potential owners’ homes, and we have sessions for both the dog and human to become more acquainted with each other.”
Currently, the no-kill Pitty Rescue, Inc. has seven dogs available for adoption - three males and four females - including a great dane/pit bull mix, labrador retriever, terrier, and pit bulls.
